Kalamkari 

Kalamkari block printing is a centuries-old craft where storytelling comes alive through fabric. Artisans begin by treating cotton with a mix of cow milk and natural mordants, creating a perfect canvas for dyes to cling. Using hand-carved wooden blocks, they stamp intricate floral and mythological motifs with precision, layering colors extracted from nature—deep indigo from fermented leaves, rich reds from madder roots, and sunlit yellows from pomegranate peels. Each piece is then washed, sun-dried, and sometimes detailed with freehand brushwork, transforming plain fabric into a timeless masterpiece steeped in history and heritage.
